Each year Morden Rotary Club hosts the local heats followed by district heats of the Young Chef Competition.
Morden Rotary Young Chef Competition, 2024
The Rotary Club of Morden hosted the Rotary South Young Chef Competition in collaboration with South Thames College in Morden.
Participants come from a wide range of backgrounds and enjoy the 'frisson' of competition. South Thames College provides the kitchens and facilities, for which we are always grateful. The judges were all noteworthy professionals - Master Chefs in their own right, and of course, our humble selves.
After briefing, the competitors had two hours to produce their meals and present the results. These were really first class! The judges complimented every entry, and found all the results were extremely high quality - commenting that they felt each one was exceptional.
The event was hosted by Morden Rotary Club. President Tony Hunn supported club members. The club is very grateful to the catering tutors and staff of South Thames College at Merton for their great organisation and enthusiasm for this event.
