'Rotary Crocus Dinner 2020'.

Richard Wharton President Elect of  the Weaver Club spoke about a proposed Foundation & International  Rotary Charity event to be held, in the second quarter of 2020 to raise funds for International and also to raise awareness of Rotary, which we would welcome your Club’s active participation.

Rotary Crocus Charity Dinner with a Celebrity Speaker followed by an Auction The event would be organised by Weaver but, following the spirit of working together in Purple for Polio we would ask our friends and fellow Rotarians from the Wych-Malbank, Nantwich, Crewe and Bentley Clubs to attend and provide items  for auction.

Each of the 4 Clubs plus Weaver would receive charitable funds from the sale of tickets plus the proceeds of the auction items that each Club provides. We believe that this should encourage all 5 Rotary Clubs to sell tickets.

Every Rotarian and their partner would be encouraged to attend and bring a friend and their partner.

At the venue would be a display about Rotary plus leaflets explaining what Rotary is all about and what it achieves.

Obviously this wouldn’t be a small event and by definition would require a good deal of organisation but, we at Weaver believe it could raise several thousands of pounds and do a great deal to promote Rotary in the area.

I have noted the comments made today but, would welcome any additional ones. Please direct them to my e mail address. Thank you and once I have compiled a summary of the comments from my own Club, your own, Crewe, Wych Malbank and Bentley they will be shared by everyone.
