The Megaride was started in 2000 as a millennium event for motorcyclists and those that are interested in motorcycles. The Megaride was devised with four main objectives; to improve the image of motorcyclists, to make more people aware of Rotary, to raise money for charity and to have, not necessarily in that order.
The event takes place at the Queen's Head in Meriden, England with the aid of the Meriden branch of the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club.
The main charity supported for 2019 was the Air Ambulance.
Many organisations and individuals contribute to the success of the Megaride, which has raised over £60,000 for various charities, but it is the riders who contribute most, especially those who obtain sponsorship for their ride.
There will be no Megaride in 2020 due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
