Students at Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate have helped to support local Brain Tumour Charity PPR with a Gala Dinner Production of Chicago the Musical: High School Edition. In conjunction with Knaresborough Rotary Club, 200 guests enjoyed a black-tie dinner served by Queen Ethelburga’s students, followed by a scintillating performance in the school’s professional theatre, The King’s Theatre. Together with a raffle, the event raised a total of £2,450, with £1,500 going to PPR and £950 to Knaresborough Rotary’s work with young people, including supporting young carers’ and ‘Kids Out’.

Recently, students from the production cast and front of house team joined Justine Langford (Creative Director of the King’s Theatre), Eleanor Smith (Outreach Manager) and Queen Ethelburga’s Principal, Steven Jandrell, to present cheques to PPR founder, Pamela Roberts and Knaresborough Rotary President, Leslie Couldwell.
