Support for local charities from Moonraker Challenge

Donations to ARC and St Margaret's Hospice

Taunton Vale Rotary Club continues to support local charities during these difficult times coping with the Coronavirus. The Club was recently able to use sponsorship money raised by walkers on the 2019 Moonraker overnight walking challenge to support two excellent local charities.

ARC (formerly Taunton Association for the Homeless) received £7000 and St Margaret's Hospice £6000 from current Club President Kathryn Robinson-Burge.

The Club will continue to give support where it can on top of the current help to Taunton East Development Trust, the Taunton Foodbank, ARC, St Margaret’s and as phone buddies for Somerset Sight and local care homes.

The 2020 Taunton Vale Rotary Moonraker Challenge was scheduled to take place on the night of Sat 10th – Sunday 11th October last year,  but had to be postponed due to Covid restrictions. We are optimistic that the event can be rescheduled for October 2021.

As usual there will be a short course of 7 miles and a more challenging 14 or 15 mile route.
