Rotarians enter Bike Bath to raise funds

We are glad to report a big success for this year’s Bike Bath. So thank you to all the cyclists. They often gave donations for their own ride! And thank you too to all our members and their families and friends who sponsored the cyclists. It was very much a Club effort to raise this amount.

It was all very different this year because the organisers replaced the one-day event in July with a whole summer of Bike rides! Each cyclist could chose a route and a date to cycle for a Bike Bath Medal Ride. There were 17 routes to choose from. And of course cyclists could choose a date which suited them and when the weather was good!

Bathavon Rotary had 20 cyclists, of whom 7 are club members. They cycled with 13 friends and family, on 8 different days. They went in every direction from Bath!

Our 20 cyclists cycled over 500 miles - an average of 25 miles each, varying between 7 and 80 miles.

And they raised - wait for it! - £2,300. An average of £115 each. That was nearly £5 per mile!

A brilliant result! And everyone reported really enjoying their ride. Their photos here show some big smiles.

We have now taken part in Bike Bath for six years and have raised over £14,000 for local charities.
