A letter from Carers Resource

To  Everyone at the Harrogate Brigantes

I hope this finds you all well. Linda and I at Young Carers in Harrogate wanted to thank you for your continued support in these difficult times. It is most generous that you have remembered our charity work and the many Young Carer’s we support in the area. 

The money you donated allowed us to ‘stay connected’ to our Young Carers across the area and join in a baking activity. We were able to provide around 30 baking packs all loving shopped for and weighed and prepared by Linda  (Young carer worker) so that when Linda and I delivered them to the Young Carers’ doors they had a hassle free activity just for them. We received some wonderful photos, some of which I have sent you. We held an online group call via Google Meet on the Thursday where some of the biscuit bakers joined us for a wellbeing catch up and a game or 2 of BINGO as they ate and shared their creations.

The Young Carer’s really did have the best time and to provide baking packs to so many  Young Carers at such a difficult time  in this way could only be done with your support. We all value your support.

To give you a flavour of what we have been doing to support our Young Carer’s at what you can imagine has and is a difficult time for them with such isolation and an the impact of an increase in the caring role and no respite. Here is some of what we’ve offered;

Offering;

1 to 1 mentoring online or in an open space

Online youth club via google meet, including treasure hunts, Bingo, Quiz’s, Escape Rooms.

Activities delivered, mug decorating, baking, pizza making, modelling clay building to name a few.

We’ve also had an outdoor meetup and some competitions and challenges.

It’s wonderful to be staying connected with them all.
