Glenda Shaw will give a talk about her great uncle Percy Shaw

Cat's eyes

Percy Shaw - local businessman and character, inventor of the cat's eyes reflecting roadstuds.

Famous locally for his factory in Boothtown, and nationally following his appearance on Whicker's World in 1968.

Local reminders include the Percy Shaw pub in Halifax and of course immortalised in song by Roger Davies - the Yorkshire Poet - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0MXOsXBcDQ
