Rotary's Central Charity

Foundation is Rotary's own Charity and distributes grants worldwide for projects covering health, welfare, education and the environment. Shipston has donated to this charity on a regular basis for many years. 

In the last two years, the Club has received District Grants to help buy school dictionaries for seven local primary schools, two Shelterboxes to be delivered to countries suffering from natural disasters and money for Shipston First Responders to help buy new equipment. 

As the crisis in Ukraine unfolded, the Club raised some £3000 for medical supplies and other forms of support for the people caught up in, or displaced by, the violence.  The money was channeled through Rotary Clubs so every pound went the those in need; there are no overheads as all Rotarians are volunteers.

Environment issues are a recent addition to the Foundation remit and research is ongoing to heighten awareness both within the Club and in local schools by way of projects.
