Dundee Rotaract donated this array of provisions to the Dundee Food Insecurity Network. The donations were received from Rotaract members, their friends and families.
Dundee Rotaract is made up of a group of young professionals, from trainee solicitors to brewers, in the local Dundee area. The members meet (virtually, for now) and keep in touch via email to discuss and plan volunteer opportunities, fundraising projects and social gatherings.
Rotaract was initially set up to get individuals from various backgrounds and careers together not only for business development and social purposes, but also to come up with and put into action innovative ideas which benefit the local community and promote Rotaract and what they have to offer.
Earlier this year, Rotaract co-ordinated a team to participate in the Swimarathon at Olympia, Dundee and raised a positive amount of money in doing so. More recently, during Covid-19, Rotaract have collated and donated a large array of foodbank items to Food Insecurity Network, which is coordinated and supported by Faith In Community Dundee.
They are also arranging a festive Zoom chat to raise a cheer to their recent foodbank efforts and engage in a Christmas quiz.
The members hope to arrange a postponed social trip to Dundeeās local brewing company as well as further volunteer opportunities in the local community. If any members of the public seek our time to assist with projects or fundraising efforts please do not hesitate to get in touch.
