ZOOM ..... CHRISTMAS MESSAGE - 2020
Yesterday evening Tuesday 22nd Dec saw our Club President Mike open a mass gathering of Zoomed out Rotarians....around three dozen of us to be exact...along with distinguished guests and artistes.
Mike introduced our guests, Christine Wimbush, Gordon Mursell, Sadie and Sue, and our guest speaker Jan Mattison. Unfortunately we were then subjected to our Club President's weekly historical lesson of dates and questions. This was brightened up a little when one of our younger members answered the Jimmy Buffett question correctly and gave the opening lines of "Margaritaville ' before being asked to "mute"
John Aitken gave a touching and most appropriate thought for the day.
Thanks to Hannah Gill, Kirkcudbright Academy and the uphill struggle with modern technology we were then beautifully entertained by two S6 pupils.
Miss Ya'el Du Toit-Burns played on the piano and sang "I'll be home for Christmas"
Mr Stuart Whan with his guitar sang and played his own version of "Frosty the Snowman"
Our guest speaker Jan Mattison, Civil Celebrant, gave a moving and thoughtful presentation of memories and moments from the heart.
Jean McKnight expressed our Clubs appreciation in the usual way.
