Matlock Rotary Club Supports Helen’s Trust

Matlock Rotary Club recently awarded a Community Grant, of £500, to Helen’s Trust to help it provide support and care for people in the Matlock area who are terminally ill and wish to remain in their own home.

Helen’s Trust, which is based in Bakewell (telephone 01629 812759), provides its services free of charge, for up to 60 people at any one time, across North Derbyshire and the High Peak.

It provides a vital service to the Matlock community, bridging the gap between the National Health Service, Social Services, national cancer charities and other providers of palliative care.

Phil Pegg, the President of Matlock Rotary Club said “Matlock Rotary Club is pleased to be helping Helen’s Trust with its funding and provision of palliative care in the Matlock community. This vital service is much regarded in Matlock and has helped many people end their journey of life at home.”

Community Grants are still available from Matlock Rotary Club. To be eligible, applicants should be Matlock based or serve the Matlock area, and be able to prove that the grant, of up to £500, would be of real benefit to their organisation and the community.
