Our joint project with Sustainable Cambodia

Our aim was to;
empower families in rural Cambodia to create a better life for themselves and their children
and to help children in rural Cambodia gain the education needed to help them grow and succeed.

The joint project partners, Sustainable Cambodia and The Rotary Club of Kensington and Chelsea empower rural Cambodian families by helping them create a sustainable quality of life with safe water and sanitation, sustainable incomes, healthy food, and quality education for their children.

Village families build schools, install wells, learn alternative agriculture, and learn to manage community projects. They then “pass-on” what they have learned by helping neighboring villages.

Through this unique model, they develop the human resources needed to rebuild their future in the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge genocide. The result is sustainability and self-reliance for the families and a fostering of compassionate assistance to neighbors in nearby villages.

Kensington and Chelsea Rotary Club donated a pond and water filters for Cambodia via Sustainable Cambodia. In Cambodia it takes WATER to start a village and education and training to build and develop the village. This first step helped raise people from poverty, illiteracy and hopelessness and eventually empowered the men, women and children of an entire village with economic sustainability and dignity.
