Following the Club’s appeal for laptops and tablets for local schools the community responded with a number of items and generous donations of money.

The Minerva Learning Trust schools, The Sir John Colfox Academy, Bridport Primary, Burton Bradstock CE Primary and St Mary’s CE Primary said that they have sufficient laptops for their pupils but needed of portable USB visualisers for teachers to interact online realtime with their pupils.

The Rotary club has added to the donations and handed over the sum of £2,500 to enable the purchase of 50 visualisers for schools in the Minerva Learning Trust.

Adam Shelley the head at the Sir John Colfox Academy explained the use of the visualisers and thanked the Bridport Rotary Club for its generosity.

Visualisers are small mounted cameras that will allow teachers to demonstrate and share resources with students. This can be either in the classroom or when remote learning. These can be used in all areas of the curriculum.
