Wessex Cancer Trust WALK FOR HOPE 2021

Sat, Sep 25th 2021 at 10:00 am -

The main organised walk was cancelled but individual and team fundraising efforts took place.
Our team once again supporting this event- see details below.

This year has been tough on all public charity fund raising events. and this years Walk for Hope has been changed from being an organised event, starting at Dan Tanner’s field, to one of individual event walks. Our team, President Steve, Anne, George, Fiona, Philip, Tina and Tim, will be walking a ten mile walk from Brockenhurst on the 25th September.
Please support them and pass on the link to any family and friends. All the money donated goes directly to Wessex Cancer Trust and may help us with publicity by demonstrating direct active Rotarian participation.https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/newforestrotaryteam

AFTER THE EVENT:-   "As of 17th October 2021 the Team has raised personal donations of £862, plus a donation of £100 from Brockenhurst Parish Council. ( At the Business meeting on 18 October the members agreed to raise the total to £1,000.) Greatly appreciated by Wessex Cancer Trust.  The weather remained fine and Pete Wales, the Chairman of Brockenhurst Parish Council was on hand at the lunch time stop to welcome the team (see picture). This was a welcome Rotary social event after the last 12 months and it was good to able to get out again and fundraise.  This has been a hard year for all charities but we know that there will be many undiagnosed cancer patients in our area and they, and their families, will be needing even more support from Wessex Cancer Trust in the near future.
