Youth Speaks Competition

Presentation of awards to pupils

Presentation of Awards to the pupils of Croesyceiliog School who were the  winners of the modified Youth Speaks Competition held in March 2021.

The photo shows the pupils of years 7; 8 and 9 and members of the Rotary Club who had arranged for the competition to be held via microsoft presentations.

The pupils made their entries on either proposing or opposing  after selecting from one of the following motions -

1) Blended learning at home is more beneficial than live teaching at school
2) Children are too young to tackle the climate crisis
3) Young people should have a voice in how Wales is run

Having due regard to the restrictions imposed due to Covid controls in that there could not be a face to face competition, the pupils knowledge and presentations were of the highest order.

Congratulations to all who participated in this competition.

Our grateful thanks are extended to Peter Knowles and the other staff of Croesyceiliog School for all their assistance in making the necessary arrangements   ----  without whom this competition for the pupils could not have even been contemplated.
