What's the Future of Food in our Community?

Tom Herbert is speaking from 7-8 pm on Thursday 4th November. Please book your FREE place by emailing your name and phone number to: nailsworthrotaryclub@gmail.com by Wednesday 3rd November.

If you would like to join us afterwards for a one course meal and coffee (£15 per head), you need to book a place and pay in advance by phoning 07490 220 773 or email: nailsworthrotaryclub@gmail.com . The deadline for booking and paying for the meal is midday on Monday 1st November.

The Long Table is a community interest company, working to change the world through food. Since it was founded in 2018, it has delivered 40,000 meals through the “Feeding the 5000” initiative in 2020, has provided food to NHS staff when they needed it, and has establishing a county-wide “Freezers of Love” network, where people can access great, healthy food, paying what they can for it.

When Tom and Henry Herbert aren’t at the frontline of the Hobbs House Bakery you may see them on TV or at events performing as their double act, ”The Fabulous Baker Brothers”. The brothers have been bringing the ultimate bread and meat combinations to viewers since 2012, with a series on Channel 4 and More4. When they were growing up Henry decided that Tom had the bread thing covered and that he wouldn’t follow his path but would become a chef. Little did he know that, after a few successful years in London, the two brothers would end up working next door to each other: Henry as the Butcher and Tom as the Baker.
