                                           Wokingham  Winter  Carnival

After 2020's break for the pandemic Wokingham Lions organised their annual Winter carnival, without the carnival procession. It was well attended as people's desire to get out again over came other considerations.

As usual we supported the Carnival with our stalls  again outside Mike Wellington'sJewelery shop.
The crowds were busier than usual such that we never stopped collecting money for our card game or the pig races.  The pigs were once again very popular with the noise made by the youngsters urging their pigs to go faster often deafening.  It certainly generated a constant queue for others to take part!  John Saunders sold out of his mulled wine by early afternoon.   The pigs were retired early because their batteries needed changing and also a lack of prizes for the winners.    Grateful thanks to Jon Bundock & others for setting up and dismantling and also to Rob Hughes who did the same for the elaborate pig track.  Thanks to John Saunders for organising and staying the whole day and to Sue Jackson for her 5 hours + stint controlling the pigs.   Although not intended as a fund raiser our charity account benefited by over £150.
