St George's Day Golf 2022

The St. George’s Golf has been running for 27 years and is an annual charity event aimed at raising money for local Charities. We play for the Dave Ledsom Trophy at Bedford & County Golf Club on the Thursday closest to St George’s Day. It was originally established by Dave Ledsom to foster nationalist pride in the red and white of England.

This year’s event was a fantastic success as we raised £7,324 for St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger, which enabled them to purchase 3 specialist beds plus sufficient funds, if they so wish, to buy a 4th.

The golf consisted of 20 teams in a Stableford competition with 4 members per team and the best 2 scores to count. There were prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd, 2 nearest the pins, and a couple of extra prizes awarded on the day.
