VIP VISIT TO DUNFERMLINE

The first woman to be honoured with the Presidency of Rotary International Worldwide visited Dunfermline to find out about the community work of the Rotary Club of Dunfermline, Andrew Carnegie’s life and legacy and the work of the Carnegie Trusts.

Jennifer Jones is a Canadian from Ontario and shortly becomes the first ever female president of RI in its 115 year history. She was hosted by Gillian Taylor (CEO of Carnegie Dunfermline Trust) and Brian Blanchflower (President of Rotary Dunfermline) and after being fully briefed also visited the new Centenary Walk of flowering cherry trees in Pittencrieff Park.

Jennifer, who was accompanied by her husband, Nick Krayacich, was delighted to hear of the immense charitable work by local Rotarians during the pandemic and commented that the Rotary organisation had distributed over £27m to support worthy causes.
