Rotary Chess Competition for Primary School Children 2022

The competition returned after a 2 year break.

After a COVID pause of 2 years the Princes Risborough Rotary Chess Competition was held on the 18th June 2022.

Because our previous venue, St Theresa’s School, is no longer available we held the competition in Griffin House School. Our thanks go to the Headmaster, Mr Tim Walford for allowing us to use his school.

The event, which was entered by eighteen children, went well, the children were very enthusiastic and they all enjoyed themselves. The Awards and Certificates were presented by the President of the Rotary Club David White.

The Winner was Zofia Heronimek of St Andrew’s School, Chinnor and she received the Cup. The runner up was Lissy Rayfield from the same school, who received the Shield.

All the children taking part received a Certificate of Merit and should be congratulated for their effort and for participating.

Thanks must go to David Cliff and two non-Rotarians, Mr Mike Turton and Mr Taylor Lacey, who again helped enormously with the event
