THE 2024 QUIZ  RESULT

Yet another successful Christmas Quiz has been completed.  As usual, our Quizmaster Robert Girvan has given many thousands of new and regular supporters the opportunity to exercise their brains over the Christmas period, and hopefully have fun at the same time, with this entertaining and challenging set of questions.

The net amount raised from the sale of quiz sheets this time was more than £7,700, all of which will go to the the various charities supported by the Club, including, particularly, Friends of the British Schools Museum in Hitchin and Mbedza, a poverty prevention charity in Malawi.  We offer a hearty thankyou to all who contributed to this by buying the quiz or made voluntary donations.

This year, more than 250 entries were received with just 29 being fully correct.

The winner, who receives £100, is Sarah Jane Taylor-Rutt, from Hitchin.  Her tie-break question was:

        "Dad called - he's going to miss dinner" -  palate
