Walk the Walk

Hadrian's Wall

Where had they come from?

Various locations.

Where were they going?

Various locations.

Why were they there?

To celebrate 900 years of Hadrian's Wall.

At 10am on Saturday 22nd April many rotarians and friends set off, in inclement weather, to complete their allotted length of Hadrian's wall. The object being to walk 73 miles, the length of the wall, in 2 to 3 hours to raise funds for a variety of local and International charities.

Seven Carnforth Rotarians, along with Nicola, David, Cooper and Harvey (our 2 furry friends) set off with joyful spirits to walk from Grinsdale to Burgh by Sands. Despite the intermittent showers and detours due to footpath closures, we thoroughly enjoyed the walk, the beautiful scenery and the fellowship.

Even better, was arriving at the Greyhound Pub in Burgh by Sands where, after photo shoots with King Edward I, we enjoyed a lovely lunch and further chatting.
