The Rotary Club of Prestwick were invited by member John Brebner to take part in a Petanque (French Bowls) evening at Troon on Tuesday night.
The game involves two opposing teams trying to throw boules as near as possible to a small ball or cochonnet (piglet in French)
About a dozen Rotary "Boolers" turned up to play and on arrival John had everything arranged - even the weather was dry - and we all enjoyed a light hearted competition and some fun.
The players don't have to be expert to enjoy it. Some took the game seriously and John was required to use his measuring tape to decide a couple of ends. Others took it as a game of fun.
Alan and his wife Jean won on the night after two games, Debbie and Lindsay came second. Both teams won a bottle of wine. Everyone was a winner on a great night."
Thanks to John for a great fun evening.
