June is the end of the Rotary Year with the handover from one team to the next. Out going President Ian Forth said “ I am really impressed that our club members and friends provided over 1100 volunteer hours to support several projects during the year and raised over £13,000 for local and international charities and good causes.
Our projects included Incredible Edible, Santa Events, Youth Competitions, Race Night and organising a Metal Detecting Rally.” Ian handed over the reins to incoming President Nic Ramsden and to President Elect Simon Whitwham this week.
Nic is a busy person as he spends part of the year working in Africa, however modern technology will enable him to Zoom into Rotary meetings during the year. Nic Ramsden said “It’s an honour to have the confidence of Brampton & Longtown Rotary to be Club President this year. We will continue to carry out the best of what we do each year, in particular important community events and support to local charities. In addition we will expand our work supporting young people and also green space issues in the local area."
