The Kiddle Cup is awarded annually to the member who "goes the extra mile" in supporting the Club in its activites. This year, President Sally was delighted to award the Cup jointly (the first time this has happened!) to Eliz and Jon Swain for their work in establishing and facilitating the Ukrainian social evenings we have supported. The evenings give our Ukrainian guests an opportunity to mix with others who have had to relocate to St Ives and the surrounding villages, speak their own language and make new friends. It was Jon's idea and he and Eliz have driven the evenings, liaising with the local Ukrainian residents and the venue, the Corn Exchange, recruiting volunteer helpers and providing a lot of the snacks and cakes that enhance the evening. They really have gone the extra mile (or two) to make this invaluable social gathering the amazing success it has been. Well done, Eliz and Jon!
