Rotary Moving Forwards.

An interesting Discussion on how to move forward

The guest speaker at our meeting on Thursday 12th October was Past District Governor, and member of Church & Oswaldwistle Rotary, Ian McTurk. Ian's topic was about an approach to offering Corporate membership to local busineses and other organisations including schools as a way to move Rotary forwards. He spoke in detail about the benfits of Corporate Membership, both to the company and the linked Rotary Club. In particular such a link would help fulfil the Corporate Responsibility policy of the organisation. For the individuals nominated by their organisation to become Rotary members, there would be opportunities to develop leadership skills through involvment with a Rotary club in its endeavours to serve the community and engage in projects locally and internationally. As an added benefit, the link-up would lead to them able to attend club meetings, talks and engage in the club social activities which could include their family members. Establishing a link to employees in an organisation will engage men and women and build lasting friendships with the members of the Rotary Club.
