Ashby Rotary Young Musician 2024-25

ROTARY YOUNG MUSICIAN    -   DISTRICT FINAL

 

Ashby Young Musicians hit the right note at the District 1070 Final held on Saturday 25^th January at Uppingham School. The competition included candidates up to the age of seventeen from Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. It included eight instrumentalists, three ensembles and eight vocalists.

Our contestants were Theo Jenkins, Effie Bowman, Oliver and Samuel Pope representing the Rotary Clubs of Ashby de la Zouch. Our entrants performed extremely well. Sam playing the Tuba won the Senior Instrumentalist. Effie won the Intermediate section playing the Harp. Both candidates have been chosen to represent the District in the Regional Final which takes place on the 9^th March at the Wolverhampton Music School.

Effie Bowman was also presented with the Best Overall Musician/Vocalist Trophy recognising her singing and instrumental performances.
