Leicester DeMontfort Charity ‘Spud’ Competition
The spud growing pack was available for distribution at the club meeitng on 21st Feburay to allow members to ‘chit’ their seed spud prior to planting
How it works - There are 3 options
All entries will have the same size sack and 3 seed
potatoes, how you ‘chit’, grow them and in what medium is up to you!
BBQ and Weigh in will be on Saturday 20th July
2024 4pm onwards....
Venue - Spinney Lodge, Firwood Road, Melton Mowbray. LE13 1SA
If unable to attend BBQ and weigh in..... collection of your entry can be arranged !
Winner will be the person with the greatest weight of potato
crop.
We will have an independent team for weighing the potatoes.
Winner to choose which charity they would like half of the proceeds of the event to go to from LDMRC
The second half will go to the general LDMRC charity pot for club distribution

more 19 intrepid De Montfort Rotarians visited the wilds of the Peak District staying for 3 nights at the MERMAID INN. Great fellowship, coupled with good food interspersed with some tough rambles around the area were had by all.....

more Quiz Venue - Glen Parva Memorial Hall £17.00 pp included a fish and chip supper. Profits to Salvation Army (Wigston) and South Leicestershire Food Bank.

more The guided tour of the tunnel commenced at 11.30a.m. Followed by Lunch at the Forge, Glenfield.
more The concert is raising money for "LOROS" (hospice) and "RAINBOWS" (children's hospice). Club members are requested to contribute in some way. Either by setting up, helping at the event, clearing up afterwards or donating to LOROS..

more The walk was organised by Theresa Phillips. 16 people attended and met at the Magazine Gateway at 6pm. The table at Wyggston’s House Restaurant was booked from 7:15 to 8:45 pm....but the serving of the pre-ordered food proved to be rather tardy....
