Message from the President Kevin Gwilliam

WISHING YOU ALL AND YOUR FAMILIES A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.

I LOOK FORWARD TO A SUCCESFUL 2024.

Rowanfield School Year 3 Gwynne Tucker-Brown 1.Their Christmas concert performance is on Tuesday December 12th. 6.00 for 6.30pm 2. School finishes on Friday December 22nd. I suggest that we finish on Thursday December 14th. 3.Thursday November 30th. Year 3 trip to the Pantomime. There are a few more events in the next few weeks so I will check if they will involve our children.

Carol Concert Gill Rouse

A huge personal thank you to John Phillip who has done so much to help me during the last few weeks when both Michael and myself were struggling. From putting up banners to going through the programme with me with a fine toothcomb looking for any printing errors, he has been a huge support. I am very grateful to him.

The programme is now finalised and will be off to the printer on 5th December.

Ideally our club needs a sound system that can be used at all our events. A week ago Kevin and John met with Ian McPherson, from the New Club, to trial a 200 watt system in the hall at Leckhampton High School. Council will discuss the results of this and make a recommendation at the next council meeting.

My thanks must also go to Leckhampton Primary School who have sold 195 tickets so far for the concert and have taken another 75 – an amazing achievement. Thirty one have been sold on line

and the club have taken 125 tickets. I am hoping we will reach the 400 mark before the 19th December.

Snowdrop teas

Our weekend for providing teas at Colesbourne when people come to view the snowdrops is Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th February. That doesn’t give us long after Christmas. We will need your help to bake a large number of cakes and also at the event to do the teas, clear the tables and wash up etc. A board will be coming round before Christmas for you to let Vivienne know your availability.

Wine Festival
