Rotary Summer Community Fête

Thu, Aug 8th 2024 at 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

The summer community fête will be back again this summer!

This year's Summer Community Fête takes place on Thursday 8th August. It will be held at the usual venue of Sandpit Field and will include all the usual favourites as well as some new activities.

Like last year, the main theme of the event is community and we invite local groups to apply for a free pitch. These are limited in number and starting to fill so please click heredownload and complete the form and send it to the email address shown on the form. Please note there is only one free pitch available per organisation.

If you are a local business or organisation and would like to hire a pitch, please click here and download and complete the form and send it to the email address shown on the form.

The traditional games such as Hook-a-Duck and Splat the Rat, amongst others, will be back with a nominal charge of 20p per go, with lots of prizes to be won simply by taking part.

As ever, we will have a Children's Zone area, which provides sporting and artistic activities, all at no cost - but parents must be in attendance with their children. We are also offering FREE face painting once again, which was so popular last year and much appreciated by parents.

Refreshments will be available from the main tent and the barbeque. There will be many other stalls, selling everything from books to arts and crafts.

The Grand Raffle will be drawn on the day and tickets will be available to buy either at the event on the day or from locations in the town centre in the days preceeding the event. We are sure to have a stellar line-up of prizes to whet your appetite.

Help Needed!

If anyone would like to volunteer at our fête, please fill out the form below. We would be very grateful for all the help you might be able to provide.

We require help to assist on our Rotary stalls, including the raffle, hoop-la, bottle stall and the other fun games. Those helping to run the stalls would be required for two hour blocks. This ensures that you get the chance to spend time enjoying the rest of the fête! We also need help to keep the site clean and tidy and on gate duty to provide safe access for the wonderful musicians who provide free entertainment.

Alternatively, if you are not able to help on the day but have some free time during the evening of Wednesday 7th August or after the fête on Thursday 8th August, we would appreciate help to set up and take down, as many hands really do make light work!

Finally, if you would like to donate a prize to our raffle, please click here and complete the 'Donate a Prize to our Events!' form
