The aims of Rotary Young Writer Competition are to engage with pupils at primary and secondary schools with the objective of enhancing their writing skills. Each year a theme is communicated then youngsters use their imagination and creativity to write a piece of prose or poetry which is then judged and prizes awarded to the three winning entries. The first placed entry in each age category is then submitted to our Rotary District Competition, the winner of which goes on to a Rotary National Competition.
Our Club has built good relationships with local schools and colleges which promote the competition to their students which, over the years, have produced excellent pieces of work.
