Keen and enthusiastic, the pupils are beavering away!  They will undertake two annual projects, one for their local community and one which raises awareness and understanding of international issues. For their local project the team is visiting their local Care Home, Ochil Care Home, and will be chatting to residents, playing games and reading to them. There has also been some discussions about linking in with other groups within the school  and  talking to the residents about their current history project and even the possibility of doing some gardening!  Just before Christmas last term some of the music group went up to entertain them.

In relation to their international project the pupils have decided to focus on helping children in war torn areas of the world and they were particularly keen to see if they could find something related to Gaza and the Ukraine. To that end after some trawling through the Internet they have decided to support some projects that Save the Children are running.  In particular the pupils are keen to raise money to buy first aid kits, books and learning materials for school bags and possibly food supplies. To do this they plan to have a fund raising day at school.  Their Crazy Hair day last year for ShelterBox was particularly successful and they might repeat this!   A quiz was also discussed and it was agreed that our Rotary club would support this with distribution and sales!  So watch this space!

Although RotaKIds Clubs are sponsored by a local Rotary Club, the day to day running of the club is undertaken by the pupils and staff members.

It is a sheer joy to be involved with the pupils and the school. Their enthusiasm and ideas are infectious and  links with such a school will provide benefits for all.
