ShelterBox sent an assessment team to Thailand following the powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March, causing widespread destruction. Myanmar and Thailand earthquake - ShelterBox
There are enormous levels of destruction across both Thailand and Myanmar. Buildings have collapsed, many people are missing or feared dead, and families are left homeless or living in dangerous conditions.
Shelterbox has appealed for donations to provide crucial aid for the people effected, something that is being supported by our Club. Those attending our concert by the Dorset Police and Taunton Deane Male Voice Choirs on 5 April generously donated £204 to the collection boxes provided. Our Club will top this up so that the Appeal receives enough to cover total cost of a ShelterBox (£600 or more depending on the needs). Just a small help to the unfortunate victims of this terrible is disaster but with the help of other Rotary Clubs, the public and other organisations the help will become significant.
