Teams will compete on the Strathtyrum Course

The annual Junior Fours Stableford Golf competition run by the Rotary Club of St Andrews was held on Sunday 20th September over the Strathtyrum Course.  Ten teams from North East Fife entered from Crail, Cupar, Lundin Links and St Andrews. Teams of four competed for the Good News Trophy, now in its fifteenth year, presented by the late David Eglinton a Past President of the club and well known local businessman. Sunday was a dull but warmish day with a breeze strengthening by the late afternoon. Scores were very good and with three best scores to count out of four. The eventual winners were St Andrews Golf Club No 1 Team (pictured) represented by Matt Todd, Sean McAlorum, Tom Smith and Ben Hunter with a score of 129 pts. Runners up were the New Golf Club with 122pts, and third equal on 120pts were Cupar and Lundin Links. Prizes for individual winners for the boys were Sean McAlorum with 45pts and for the girls, St Regulus member Tara Early with 47pts.  Team members and parents gathered in the Eden Clubhouse for the prizegiving after the event where the trophy was presented by St Andrews Rotary Club Senior Vice President John Ardley.
