District Grants

All you need to know about District Grants - what they can be used for and how to apply

Before you read on, please remember that if you want to apply for a grant your club MUST have had someone attend a Grant Management Seminar (GMS).

Dates for GMS in 2024 can be found here.

District grants are for smaller local or international projects. The updated Guidelines for projects in 2023 - 24 are available. Click here.

For District Grants there is an annual business cycle. Applications for grants for projects in 2024-25 open in April 2024 and close at the end of May 2024.

You can use the RI Grant Center to find all of the grants sponsored by our District., whether or nor your Club is involved. It's easy. First sign on to MyRotary on www.rotary.org.and navigate to the Grant Center, under The Rotary Foundation, Grant Application Tool. Click Grant Search, top right. That will take you to a page that has a search bar you can use to search, by grant number, grant title or area of focus.

Click here for guidance on how to use the Grants Center.

You will find information about stewardship and the Club Memorandum of Understanding on the Stewardship page.

District Designated Funds (DDF)

DDF is the Foundation funds over which District has control. Each year we are assigned an amount of DDF that is 50% of the APF (Annual Program Fund) contributed by D1010 Clubs three years previously.
Under the Grants Model, we are permitted to assign up to 50% of this sum for allocation as District Grant. The remaining 50% is available to match fund Global Grant projects or to donate to Foundation priorities such as End Polio Now or the Peace Centres.
