Youth Activities in Rotary North East 2022-23
At the beginning of this Rotary Year (July 2022), our District had 26 Rotakids Clubs, 12 Interact Clubs, and 3 Rotaract Clubs, with more Rotakids and Interact Clubs in the early stages of formation.
Most Rotary Youth Competitions have been cleared to take place this Rotary year. However, RGB&I have not yet announced whether there will be national finals of Young Musician, Young Chef or Youth Speaks in 2023. We will run District heats for all of the Youth Competitions that have Club entries, though some of these will be on-line rather than face-to-face again this year.
We hope to run the Technology Tournament again in 2022, after taking time out because of COVID restrictions. Two RYLA courses will run in summer 2022.
Bring It On North East, which originated as an idea from Sunderland Rotary, was run as a virtual event in 2020 and 2021, as the COVID restrictions made it impossible to bring together 1500 young people into an indoor event safely. This year though the event returns to its live venue in the Beacon of Light. Wed 12th and Thu 13th Oct 2022 are the dates for your diary.

Jean and Keith Best are happy to do Zoom presentations on the Peace Project they have developed. This has been adopted at Barnard Castle through Rotary Barnard Castle and at North Durham Academy Stanley supported by Derwentside Club. Please let me know if you would like Jean and Keith to do a presentation at your club meeting.
DGN Chris Baylis is available to give a Zoom presentation about the Rotary Technology Tournament, Greenpower, or The Growth of Electric Cars in the North East.
