Mon 20th May 2019 Guided tour of the Bishop's Palace garden with Head Gardener, followed by dinner and talk at the Swan. Inner Wheel is joining us.

The tour will be begin at 1600 and then the group will move across to the Swan for dinner at the usual sort of time. Members and guests may join us there for the after dinner talk, also to be given by James, the Head Gardener at the Bishop's Palace.

Rotary currently holds the Ballcock Trophy, after the last in the previous series of matches with Inner Wheel, but they want it back! The format of the competition will be decided on the night.
The alley and meal have been booked in readiness.

The club is planning a Young Photographer competition which links into the national competition. The local round is expected to take place during January.
A local village house in better repair than many around it!  RTU has replaced more than 8,000 using building blocks and materials made within their charity.

Mike came to the club having started a bid for a global grant, to provide solar panels in Malawi, in a previous club. Details of exactly how they are to be used will be revealed, along with the costs and timescales involved.

A pop-up shop is being run on the side of the Crown Hotel, to raise money for a youngster to go on the Rotary Youth Leadership Award weekend in the new year, featuring opportunities to buy Christmas presents or things you always knew you needed.

The annual carnival procession is a major attraction for families and the club usually uses the opportunity to raise funds for Rotary charities. Details have not been finalised yet.

The club is having a new format for its lunchtime meeting when Tim Lethaby will be leading a discussion of the contribution of the media to Rotary and particularly our club. He has experience over a variety of media and will be seeing to help the club.

Rotarians do not normally get involved in the water fights, but the occasion provides good Rotary exposure and raises money through the Pop-up Shop run beside the moat.
