Rotary Charity Meal raises £400 Donation to End Polio Now - February 2024

To mark Rotary Day on 23rd February 2024, members had soup and pancakes instead of their usual weekly meal. This raised a surplus of £400 which has been donated to the Rotary Foundation Charity's End Polio Now initiative to eradicate polio worldwide

Port Erin Shoprite Charity Collection - December 2023

Gallant Rotarians helped the hoards of Christmas Eve shoppers pack their shopping bags in return for a small charitable donation. In total over £1100 was donated by the generous shoppers in Port Erin.

Donation to Isle of Man Air Ambulance - October 2021

Several club members have had direct experience as a patient in being flown off island for urgent treatment in the UK. As a consequence the club decided to help support the work of this vital part of the Islands Health Service.

Rotary District 1285 Summer Camp Students

On Friday 21st July, 14 students from a variety of countries including Poland, Portugal, Spain, Macau, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands and Romania visited the Isle of Man for the weekend as part of Rotary District 1285 Summer Camp 2017.

Children in their final year at primary school are being given dictionaries.The Isle of Man Rotary Clubs, working with the Isle of Man Government, is offering dictionaries to all Year 6 pupils at island primary schools for the next three years.

On Saturday 3rd December 2016, Rushen & Western Mann Rotary Club members helped Port Erin Traders Association prepare for Christmas by erecting 30 Christmas trees plus christmas lights on buildings around the village.

Return of Giant Minions to Isle of Man Field raises £3,260 for Charity

In Autumn 2015, a field full of giant Minions has helped to raise more than £2,360 to help Isle of Man newborns at the Special Care Baby Unit at the Island's Noble's Hospital, and £900 for the Children's Ward at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.

A family Fun Day and BBQ at Cringle Reservoir was held on Sunday 28th June 2015. Jointly organised by the Rushen & Western Mann Rotary and the Inner Wheel Club's raised £587 for the Charity WaterAid.

2015 Nepal Earthquake - £1,220 raised in Port Erin street collections

On 9th May 2015, a street collection was held in Port Erin and at Port Erin Railway Station to raise funds to send ShelterBoxes to Nepal after the recent earthquake. Over £1,220 was raised thanks to the generosity of local residents and visitors.

Rotary Moves Venue at the Cherry Orchard in Port Erin from 1st July 2014

As from 1st July 2014 the venue for meetings changed to the Cherry Orchard in Port Erin. Members moved the club regalia on Saturday 28th June from the old venue of the Falcons Nest Hotel in Port Erin.

End Polio Now Campaign

Rotary, along with our partners, has reduced polio cases by 99% worldwide since our first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

Stroke Awareness

For a number of years the Club has been actively supporting work to raise Stroke Awareness. It has help to organise and run drop in sessions where members of the public can have their blood pressure tested and receive free advice.
