Mon. 19th July 2010 - Albania Land Rover Fire Engine in action

PRESS RELEASE:

Just days after arriving in Albania a Land Rover sponsored by Bodmin Rotary Club and donated by the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, has helped rescue the survivors of a horrific bus crash that killed 14 people.

Wed 7th July 2010 - Handover to new President

Presidents busy first night..... Bodmin Club Rtn. Jeremy Edwards handed over the presidential chain of office to Rtn. Phil Bullen. Phil joined the club in 2002 following his vist to Michigan & Ontario as a Rotary GSE Team member and has since been a Team Leader to Norway and involved in many other rotary projects both locally and internationally. Phil is married with two sons and is a Police Sergeant with the Devon & Cornwall Police. Phil and his Rotary Committees have put together a busy programme for the coming year 2010/11.

Also on this evening the club welcomed District Governor John Pearce as a guest and as a positive start to the new year Phil inducted new member Colin Bell into the club.

July 2010 - PROJECT ALBANIA

< Mission Complete >  Rtns. Peter Old & Peter Robinson briefly reported that they had successfully delivered the Fire Engine to Albainia - An interesting adventure !  Full report & Photos soon > watch this space.


The Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service recently donated a decommissioned Land Rover Fire Appliance to the Rotary District Overseas Project Team (OPT).  This vehicle has been carefully refurbished by the Rotary Club of Bodmin who will, during the week 1st - 7th July 2010, deliver it to Pukes in North Albania.  The members of Bodmin Club tackling this mamouth journey and crossing of the Adriatic Sea are Rtn. Peter Robinson & Rtn. Peter Old.
