Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Dunbar

Dunbar Rotary Club is a club that works right in the heart of the community in Dunbar and surrounding areas. We have a regular charity book stall on Saturday mornings from Easter through to September. As a club we provide a tape version of local newspapers for our friends who have eyesight difficulties or for some reason or another cannot read the local newspapers.

Our President for 2010-2011 Gordon Coventry announced at the handover dinner in July that he would like to nominate Dunbar 1st responders as his nominated charity.A local shop will provide the venue in November for our annual Charity shop where a lot of our funds are raised. We also visit local sheltered housing complexes to provide entertainment evenings  and deliver free Christmas meals on Christmas day for those who are alone at Christmas.

On the international side of Rotary we have purchased Shelter Boxes and Aqua Boxes for disaster relief in Haiti as well as for the recent Pakistani Floods. We have ongoing fundraising for end polio now.Rotary almost single handedly have almost eradicated Polio worldwide through this campaign helped by the Bill Gates Foundation.Dunbar Rotary Club is always ready to support this.We raise monies for Rotary Foundation funds through personal donation and through special events like Music Evenings.Look out for local press advertising should you wish to suport us.
