.

On Sunday 4thJune 2017 Elgin Rotary Club will host the 14thbiennial Marafunaround the streets of Elgin from 12.00 – 5.00pm.This year we want to build on the fantastic monies that participants have raised for local charities since the event began in 1991.

Once again 100 local organisations will share equally in monies raised, to help them in their good work in our local communities.  Elgin Rotary are indebted to Diageo who have agreed to continue as Platinum Sponsor for the event.

The main event is the Adult Street Relay with teams of 5, of all abilities, with each team member running 5.2 miles around Elgin Town Centre. There are a number of team categories for men, ladies, mixed, fun runners, services and sports clubs. We will also be looking out for the best fancy dress!

There is a primary school run with the children running one lap of the relay course ahead of the main race. This race is open to primary school pupils in primaries 6 and 7 and applications can be made through their school.

To complement and complete the day there will be displays of cars and new cars, charity stalls, food and other stalls as well as entertainment and fun activities for all the family.

Elgin Rotary Show n Shine returns this year to the Centre of Elgin, located in and around Moray Council Car Park on the High Street, we anticipate a capacity entry from car enthusiasts throughout the area. Entry is now FULL.  We expect some of the hottest Show n Shine Cars alongside Esteemed Classic Examples and Performance Cars. The event will be supported by local company trade stands, there will be a bbq and music on site, prizes for best in category as well as a chance to support the runners in Marafun. Not forgetting the esteemed Club / Group award of Piston Cup.
