Rotary Monmouth not only runs events it also assists in the community at many events and in other ways

Organise Youth activities

 

  • Rotary Youth Speaks - a national debating competition with a a first round involving all three senior schools in Monmouth with the winners going  on to compete with schools from around the district.
  • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards - sponsoring attendence at a four day residential course to develop confidence and team building skills for 16-18 year olds
  • International Youth Exchange - supporting candidates who apply and selected to attend an international convention with others of their generation
  • End Polio -raising money and publicising the need to eradicate this terrible disease

 

Rotary Monmouth Community Champions

Many projects in town including

 

  • Water Fountain project
  • Green wall on Blestium St. toilet block
  • Outings for senior citizens
  • Trying to smarten up the town by clearing overgrown vegetation, tree planting and litter picking

 

Support local organisations 

By donations and organising an annual Community Draw This is the fifth year that the Draw has been held, and this year is being run in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs of Abergavenny and Chestow and District.

We also assist at:

 

  • St David's Hospice "Tour de Gwent" providing marshals and assisting with refreshments in late April
  • The Monmouth Show - manning the road crossing in early July
  • Monmouth Carnival - assisting with marshalling the parade
  • Town Lantern festival - kicking off the Christmas festivities

more Monmouth Green Wall replanted for the winter. The flowers covering the walls of the Blestium Street toilet block in Monnow Street Monmouth, have been giving pleasure to residents and visitors for over 5 years.
