International Committee - Chairman's Report 2010-2011

 

The International Committee of the Marlow Thames club has just finished probably its busiest and most successful year with several firsts.

Twelve intrepid travellers made a trip to that far flung multi-cultural city of Birmingham for District Conference.  Those who didn't attend missed a great week-end in a great city.

Steve Berry kindly gave us an insight into the organisation and work of the Rotary Foundation charity.

Marlow Thames has now hosted its fourth Ambassadorial Scholar, Scott Krenitski, who has taken a break from his revision to give us a resume of his year at Oxford and with the Marlow Thames club.  The 1090 District hosted all of the UK Ambassadorial Scholars in September 2010 for a link week-end and Marlow Thames was joint top in the district for the number of scholars hosted. 

Mike Cannon and Sara Bowater have done their bit organising and participating in the Group Study Exchange (GSE) to Argentina.
