There was an international air at the weekly meeting when Club President told members the Club was giving financial support to the Leven Club's project for a dialysis machine bound for Bangalore in India. Rotarian Ken Stahly then updated members on a planned visit by some Club members and NHS trained persons to Tanzania in November. In previous years Rotarian Alan Suttie had been instrumental forging links with various projects in Tanzania. For health reasons Alan is no longer able to travel to Tanzania; but all present were delighted that Alan was present to hear Ken's news some of Alan's fellow Rotarians in the Club were carrying forward several good works begun by Alan Suttie. Club President Brian Munro informed members he was heading off with three others to climb Mont Blanc in Switzerland; and thanked members for sponsorship that should benefit Rotary Foundation by approximately one thousand pounds.
