Blood Pressure Awareness Day

Rotary in Burton has been a supporter of the Stroke Association for over a decade, predominantly through our ‘Know Your Blood Pressure’ campaign, previously known as Stroke Awareness day. This year the event is being held in Burton's Octagon Centre, all day, on Saturday 18th April.

High blood pressure is a contributing factor to over 50% of all strokes. There’s no way of knowing if you have high blood pressure unless you have it checked. Having your blood pressure tested is quick, easy and painless.

Know Your Blood Pressure events are free to anyone who would like to have their blood pressure checked, find out more about high blood pressure and its link to stroke and take away further information about other risk factors for stroke.

In preparation for the event the Rotary Clubs of Burton and Bretby have been checking the blood pressures of the staff and players of Burton Albion and Burton Rugby Club. Pictured are retired consultant Adam Johns of Burton Rotary Club, taking the blood pressure of Albion manager Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink, watched by Burton Rotary Vice-President Sue Barke and Bretby President Vic Trigwell.
