Tour of Police Museum at Police HQ

Thu, Sep 3rd 2015 at 12:00 am -

This week saw a group of us visit The Essex Police museum and control room.  It was an interesting insight into the work of the team taking 999 calls, most of which are civilian staff.  Personally I was envious of their system of 4 computer screens.  The museum was a nice visit with a talk about the history of Police in Essex - after which we had the opportunity to try on vintage uniforms, it seemed that old police officers were very small as David struggled to find a jacket which fit.  I have attached a picture for those of you who have not visited Facebook and seen them....

10 of us enjoyed a meal at Zizzi beforehand, all agreed it could be an alternative venue for a change as the separate area does suit our needs and they are willing to cater to our budget.

This coming week Club Council is at my house on Tuesday 8th September - as always all welcome.

Thursday we are back at the Rose & Crown for a Business meeting - and of course a foodbank collection.
