This week members had the unexpected treat of hearing President John give a vocational update. He had been asked to talk to Glenrothes Rotary Club later in the week and thought he would give it a trial run with his own club first!
He gave everyone a lively account of some of his more memorable moments from his early days with Fife Warehousing (now Fife Group) with anecdotes which managed to include politicians, grain mountains, bees and clay pigeons…
Now Managing Director of Fife Group, PP John also gave everyone an interesting insight into the range and scale of the services the company delivers today and set the business context, describing some of the challenges facing Fife in today’s economic climate as well as highlighting some of its undoubted successes.
Brian Munro then gave the vote of thanks, commenting on how today’s meeting had been more like the One Show - with John acting as Chair, delivering the grace and giving the talk! The meeting closed at 2.00pm
