Business Meeting at the College

Thu, Feb 25th 2016 at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Well, the Rotary shop didn't prove too successful! It's probably in the wrong place and there seemed to be very few people passing - or venturing inside. The number of people that we actually managed to engage in conversation was tiny and I gather it has been similar on the other days. But who know, maybe some people will have 'registered' Rotary and now know a little more about us - and many thanks to those who helped in setting up and staffing the shop.

Thursday had a respectable attendance at college for our Business meeting. Sect John will prepare minutes so won't steal his thunder. A key point though was agreeing the fee for corporate members and I will write to the College advising them. Hopefully we can look forward to securing our first corporate membership in the not too distant future.

Jane said Grace and extracted a large volume of fines. Roger didn't win the raffle; Leila won in her absence.

On Saturday, we had our most successful (yet) quiz with well over 160 participants, delivering a profit of over £900; the raffle made a further £350 which will go to polio funds. Hopefully, having got people interested, we can maintain that level of success. Many thanks to all who helped with the organisation and on the night.
