AM-AM Golf Competition

Wed, Jul 6th 2016 at 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Our Annual Charity Golf Day was held at Calcot Park Golf Club on 6th July.

17 teams from local businesses and friends of Rotarians took part on a beautiful sunny day.

The winning team was from the Evening Standard newspaper, whose Managing Editor is a Reading Abbey Rotarian.

Just over £3,000 was raised mainly to support a new charity in Berkshire, My Cancer My Choices, which offers complementary therapies such as yoga, acupuncture, reflexology etc to patients who are being treated for cancer. All the therapists give their time free of charge and the charity currently has facilities within the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and the RBH Healthspace unit in Bracknell.

Rotary's "End Polio Now" vaccination programme and other local good causes will also benefit.
